Fort Lauderdale, FL - January 16, 2020 - CenterLink and The Johnson Family Foundation are proud to announce that the following LGBTQ Community Centers have each been awarded funding dedicated to increasing the variety and quality of mental health services they provide:

Affirmations - Ferndale, MI

In Our Own Voices - Albany, NY

Side By Side - Richmond, VA

Time Out Youth - Charlotte, NC

Triangle Community Center - Norwalk, CT

The $150,000 in total grants support specific capacity-building projects of existing mental health programs.

"CenterLink is excited to continue our work with the Johnson Family Foundation.  This program is so important and has made a tremendous impact on LGBTQ centers and communities across the US and Canada. We look forward to working with each center as they become model programs in the delivery of mental health services," said Interim CEO Denise Spivak.

Since its inception in 2010, the Johnson Family Foundation LGBTQ Mental Health Initiative at CenterLink has awarded a total of $1.8 million to 47 LGBTQ centers in 13 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and Canada.

"JFF is thrilled to partner with LGBTQ community centers across the country that are working to ensure that high-quality, culturally-competent mental health programs are accessible to the individuals and families they serve.  We are grateful to CenterLink for guiding this Initiative and providing these centers with multiple, year-round opportunities to connect more deeply with their communities, with each other, and with additional resources that will empower them to expand and strengthen their work,” said Frank Baiocchi, Johnson Family Foundation Executive Director.

CenterLink applauds the ongoing commitment of the Johnson Family Foundation and its support of our mission to help develop strong, sustainable LGBT community centers and build a thriving center network that creates healthy, vibrant communities.
