What is Center Awareness Day?
Every year on October 19, we come together to celebrate the vital role that LGBTQ+ Centers play in our communities. As LGBTQ+ issues gain increased recognition locally, nationally, and globally, this day serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the profound impact of LGBTQ+ Centers.
Until October 19, 2024

Center Awareness Day is Proudly Supported by:
In the heart of so many towns and cities across the nation, there exists a place where love, acceptance, and empowerment flourishes. These places are none other than the vibrant LGBTQ+ Community Centers.
Picture this: within the walls of these Centers, magic happens. People find refuge from the storms of discrimination and prejudice. They discover a safe space where they can be their authentic selves, free from judgment. These Centers offer a myriad of services, a lifeline to those who need them most.
They provide social services, offering a helping hand to those in need. Mental health counseling is readily available, offering solace to those grappling with the heavy burdens of life. Cultural programs celebrate diversity, while recreational activities fill the air with laughter. Libraries offer knowledge and solace, and educational programs open doors to a brighter future. Support groups foster connections and understanding, while youth and elder support offer a sense of belonging. Computer access is a gateway to opportunities, and care and treatment are a beacon of hope for those facing health challenges.
These Centers are the heartbeats of the LGBTQ+ community, the guiding lights in the darkest of times. But they need support, and they need champions. Champions like all of us, when we work together we can make a huge difference.
Enter CenterLink: The Community of LGBTQ+ Centers. They envision a day when these Centers shine even brighter, when their importance is recognized far and wide.
And so, on October 19th, every year, CenterLink brings forth "LGBTQ+ Center Awareness Day." It's a day of action, a day of unity, a day of celebration. This is the day when we, as a nation, come together to honor the vital services provided by these community Centers and acknowledge the central roles they play in our local communities.
But this day is more than just a celebration; it's a call to action. It's an invitation for everyone, LGBTQ+ Centers, and LGBTQ+ supporters alike, to join the movement.
LGBTQ+ Center Awareness Day beckons all Centers to download their toolkit—an invaluable resource to strengthen their mission. With this templated customizable content, they can add their own branding and share about their services, reach more people, and create a brighter future for all.
To the LGBTQ+ supporters, we extend an invitation to visit the Toolkit for Individuals folder. It's a roadmap to making a real difference. It's a guide to sharing online about centers, amplifying the voices that deserve to be heard, supporting the hearts that deserve to be loved, and creating a world where love knows no bounds.
So, dear friends, as the day approaches, let us remember the LGBTQ+ Centers across the world that transform lives, and let us stand together, hand in hand. Together, we ensure that these Centers continue to be beacons of hope and love in our communities. Download the materials in the toolkit (one is for CenterLink member centers and one is for individuals) and let's write the next chapter of acceptance, unity, and empowerment, together.
