BATTLE CREEK PRIDE CORPORATION

As a nonprofit committed to promoting equity and inclusion, the Battle Creek Pride Resource Center offers a variety of programs designed to support the 2SLGBTQ+ community. These programs help individuals of all ages build community, find resources, and connect in safe, welcoming spaces. The specific programs we seek to support with this grant include: • Constellations LGBTQ Youth Group: This is an informal social and support group for local 2SLGBTQ+ middle and high school students and their parents. We aim to create an inclusive environment where youth and their families can build friendships, share experiences, and find support. • The Battle Creek Queer Oral History Project: This project aims to capture the rich 2SLGBTQ+ history of Battle Creek, ensuring that the experiences and stories of our community are preserved for future generations. • The Umbrella Group: This is a support group for trans and nonbinary individuals ages 18 and up. It provides a safe space to share experiences, learn from others, and access resources, contributing to participants' mental and emotional well-being. • Gaymers Game Night is a fun, inclusive gaming event for 2SLGBTQ+ gamers and their allies. It fosters camaraderie, competition, and community-building while celebrating the diversity of the gaming world. • Battle Creek Pride Food Distribution Program: A food assistance initiative that helps 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, allies, and their families access fresh, nutritious food, addressing food insecurity and promoting health and wellness.
